Off-ice training is a crucial piece of your hockey training.  Off-Ice strength and conditioning training helps to build and to maintain the power, quickness, flexibility, and endurance necessary to be a high level goaltender.  Most of the time, the individual who commits himself/herself to fitness in addition to hockey skills training is the one that continues to develop and to reach new heights!  We have seen first-hand the more rapid skill development in the goalies that have done off-ice training as they translate to significant on ice results!

The Goalie Academy has designed innovative goalie specific workouts that will undoubtedly enhance your game! It is our mission to help build lean, agile, explosive athletes and our facility has the necessary tools and knowledge to do so.  So sign up today and reap the benefits tomorrow!

The GA OFF-ICE Program

> Sport and position specific training increases strength and speed in desired areas of your game!
> Core and leg strength are the focal point for a goaltender; thus, they’re our primary focus!
> Workouts are designed to increase speed in your lateral mobility and fast twitch muscle fibers for quicker reaction!
> We combine certain isometric exercises with plyometric exercises to create strength and agility!
> We incorporate yoga to ensure flexibility which is pivotal in injury prevention!
> All age groups are welcomed, its never too early to enhance your fitness!
> We have a stage approach to fitness training: 1. Conditioning (get in shape!), 2. Building to become stronger, quicker, more flexible, and more agile,
3. Off-Season Training (May through August):
* Lose weight and training will build muscle, increase strength and power that will directly transfer to better on-ice performance.
* Increase flexibility
4. In-Season Training (September through April tryouts)
* Maintenance of conditioning to stay energetic and in-shape during the season.
* Avoid the breakdown of strength, conditioning during a wearing season and maintain flexibility to avoid injury.

Training Rates

* 1 player:     1 per week $50
                      2 per week $90
                      3 per week $120 

* 2 to 3 players: $35 per player per session
